CAKE: How does bridal beauty differ from everyday makeup?

CYF: Most brides want to look like their natural self but a bit more polished and photo-ready. Pumping up the pigment a bit and making sure the look will last all day and through the night will guarantee amazing pictures.

CAKE: How should a bride prep her skin leading up to the big day?

CYF: Prep with any facials and treatments catered to your skin type and desired outcome at least three months out, and don’t try anything new leading up to the big day in case of any reactions. For day of, brides will want to look healthy, fresh and hydrated, so I would suggest our Aglow Priming Oil to moisturize and prime skin for a perfect canvas and a spritz of our Aglow Face Mist after makeup application. Her look will last all day and an occasional spritz will keep up the glow.

CAKE: What are current bridal beauty trends?

CYF: Fresh, dewy skin!

CAKE: What tools should every bride have in her arsenal?

CYF: Definitely our Aglow Face Mist, but a quick lip for touch-up is a necessity.

CAKE: How can a bride make her makeup last all night?

CYF: By using a primer prior to makeup application. It balances skin tone and texture with a soft blurring effect which allows makeup to go on smoothly and evenly. Set makeup with a face mist so your look stays in place from ceremony through reception.

CAKE: Is there anything beauty-related a bride should steer clear of on her wedding day?

CYF: Don’t try an entirely new look unless you’ve had a trial prior to wedding day. All brides want to look and feel their best so any drastic changes should be tried and vetted out. On the day of, you want to be confident with your hair, nails and makeup.

CAKE: When getting ready for the honeymoon, what should a newlywed pack in her toiletry bag?

CYF: Three is all you need. Complexion, lip and eye products to round out and make things simple. For instance, our multi-tasking Marvelous Matte Crème Foundation doubles as a concealer and foundation, our Divine Duo Lip & Cheek is a must-have for a creamy lip and buildable cheek and, last but not least, our five-in-one eye palette that does it all. Our Palette Perfection Eye Quad is a highlighter, eyeshadow, brow and eye liner in one.
