Have you ever wondered what the average wedding cost is? The Knot has investigated, receiving input from over 17,000 real couples nationwide who got married in 2019 for its annual Real Weddings survey.
Drumroll, please! The findings suggest the average cost of a wedding today is $33,900. This includes the engagement ring, but excludes any honeymoon expenses, which typically are an additional $5,000, on average.
Consistent with the previous year’s findings, the average cost of a wedding ceremony or reception in 2019 was $28,000, though the day-of costs vary significantly by location, largely driven by big city versus small city cost disparities.
